FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How much seed do I need?

This depends on whether you are doing a new renovation or overseeding. It also depends on what product you choose. Refer to each product page for detailed information on how many lbs per 1,000 sq ft you will need.

Q: Is your fertilizer safe for kids and pets?

Yes — when applied as directed and allowed to dry, our products are safe for pets and children.

Q: What locations do you ship to?

USA—We only ship to the continental United States, excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories.

Canada—As of April 2025, we are testing out Canadian Orders. For updates, subscribe to our emails using the banner at the bottom of this page.

Q: How long does shipping take?

Most orders ship within 1–2 business days. Transit time varies by location but is typically 2–5 business days.

Q: Where's my order?

Once your order ships, you’ll receive a tracking number via email. If it hasn’t arrived, check your junk email folder in case it was marked as spam. If you have not received it, please contact us at support@thelawnlife.com.

Email us immediately. If your order hasn’t shipped, we’ll do our best to update it.

Q: I got the wrong item, or is something missing? What should I do?

We’re sorry! Contact us at support@thelawnlife.com with your order number, and we will resolve the issue immediately.

Q: Can I cancel or modify my order?

If your order hasn’t shipped, yes! Email us at support@thelawnlife.com ASAP with your order number and change request.

Q: When should I apply seed or fertilizer?

Spring and fall are ideal for seeding. Avoid extreme heat.

For our starter fertilizer, put it down either the day you seed or 2 weeks after. Be careful not to tear out baby seedlings if you choose 2 weeks after.

Our AMS and Neighbor's Envy can put down any time of the year that your grass is growing.

Q: How do I apply the seed/fertilizer?

For fertilizer use a spreader/sprayer/hose end sprayer and follow the rate on the label.

For seed we suggest putting your spreader on a low setting and go over your lawn multiple ways, in multiple different directions to get the best coverage.
